CareLift Equipment has been designing and making quality rough terrain forklifts since the year 1962. Each day the company strives to help all their consumers reach their objectives and deliver value because they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These units are straight boom lifts and articulated boom lifts. Normally, these models are powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the ideal alternative for jobs which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machinery is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom could be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator can steer and maneuver the vehicle whilst the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machinery. These units come in diesel, propane or gas configurations as well as 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
The articulated boom lifts are utilized for jobs that need to reach up and over obstacles in order to gain access. These specialized lifts are utilized for jobs which are not easily carried out by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to easily move around any objects in the work environment.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers so as to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is fully extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Proper training is required before utilizing boom lifts so as to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable tasks that used to need a lot more man hours to be done in a much shorter time period. These equipment have revolutionized the material handling industry and have greatly increased productivity.
